Is it possible to unlock the premium widgets like product carrousel and such?

For product carousel, you don't need premium

All themes have incomplete elements that require work, many things need to be defined or reimplemented to meet Google's parameters.

For premium features, I suggest you purchase the full theme; you'll need constant updates.

PrestaShop is complicated; you shouldn't experiment until the basics are fully functional.
